The “Yatsushiro National Fireworks Competition” is the only national fireworks competition in western Japan and is held on the banks of the Kuma River. In addition to competitive fireworks, music fireworks are also planned, with 30 famous pyrotechnicians competing.
Among the three categories of competitive fireworks, the highlights are the No. 5 shells, No. 10 shells, and star mines, and the event concludes with “Light Exchange with Fireworks Artisans.”
This high-level fireworks competition is famous as “Yatsushiro’s Fireworks” and is attracting attention from outside of Kyushu as well.
