Uomachi Gintengai is a shopping street where the first arcade in Japan was built in 1951.

This shopping street, which started with the concept of being able to shop without getting wet in the rain, is now a bustling downtown area with about 200 stores, including gourmet restaurants and general merchandise stores.

You can also enjoy eating while walking around, with local Kitakyushu specialties like grilled udon and tea sweets from long-established tea shops.
