Ryugozan Senkoji Temple is a Zen temple of the Soto sect, founded by Eisai. This temple, located in a mountain valley, is known as “Hydrangea Temple,” and approximately 7,000 beautiful hydrangeas bloom in full glory.
The Senkoji Hydrangea Festival is scheduled to be held from June 4th to June 26th (the festival period may be changed depending on the flowering status of the hydrangeas). The opening hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and an admission fee is required. The fee is 300 yen for high school students and older, and 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students. There is parking for approximately 90 cars.
