Shimizu-dera Temple, an ancient Tendai Sect temple located on the mountainside of Mount Shimizu, began when Saicho carved a statue of the Thousand-Armed Kannon in 806. It is famous as a Kannon deity of safe childbirth, matchmaking, and granting children, and many people visit.
