“Yuakari” began in 2012 as part of bamboo thinning and regeneration activities to solve environmental problems caused by abandoned bamboo forests. Now, it is loved by many people as a winter tradition of Kurokawa Onsen.

Ball Lanterns:
- Approximately 300 spherical lanterns called “ball lanterns” warmly illuminate the riverside and the hot spring town. Cylinder Lanterns:
- Cylindrical lanterns about 2 meters high called “cylinder lanterns” create a fantastical atmosphere. Lighting Up of Kawabata-dori:
- This year, “Kawabata-dori” from Marusuzu Bridge to Yamabiko Ryokan will be lit up.
