The “Kumamoto Castle Festival” is an event held in the spring and autumn at the Kumamoto Castle ruins. It is a valuable opportunity for the citizens of Kumamoto, as well as many visitors from Japan and overseas, to experience Japanese culture and history.
Due to damage from the Kumamoto Earthquake, some paid areas, the Bugyo-maru area, and the Sasaen garden cannot be used. However, Kumamoto Castle is positioned as a base for restoration efforts, and the festival is centered around the Ninomaru Square. We invite you to come and spend a pleasant time experiencing the history and tradition of Kumamoto Castle.
