The Kawatari Festival (Hekokaki Festival), known at Kora Taisha, will be held. This festival is an exorcism prayer festival to pray for exorcism and longevity. The “Chinowa Kuguri Ritual” led by Shinto priests will be held three times, at 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 2:00 PM, and many people will participate.

It is said that people who are celebrating their 60th birthday or are in their unlucky year will pass through the Chinowa ring and receive prayers during this festival, thereby removing misfortunes and turning disasters into blessings. Of particular note is the “Hekokaki Hadaka Mairi” held on June 1st every year. In this event, people in red loincloths perform purification at Asazuma no Shimizu at the foot of Mt. Kora, and then pray for exorcism while climbing the mountain to the main hall. This traditional event is also recorded in literature from the Edo period.

Participate in the Kawatari Festival at Kora Taisha and pray for exorcism and longevity.
