Kokura Castle Garden in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a tasteful garden that recreates the gardens of feudal lords and the shoin (study) of samurai families from the Edo period. In the fall, Japanese maple trees and other trees turn red, and the best time to see them is usually from mid-November to early December.
The garden is full of highlights, such as a water harp, a tea room, and a monument to Basho Matsuo’s haiku. Among them, the row of Japanese maple trees planted around the pond is popular during the autumn leaves season. The appearance of the trees colored in red and yellow reflecting on the water surface is truly spectacular.
In addition, there are facilities such as Kokura Castle and the Matsumoto Seicho Memorial Museum in the garden. After viewing the autumn leaves, it is also recommended to experience history and culture.
Why not take this opportunity to visit the autumn leaves at Kokura Castle Garden and feel the beauty of autumn along with the atmosphere of the Edo period?
