Today, I would like to tell you about the cherry blossoms at Kokura Castle, which are now at their peak. Kokura Castle is a historic castle in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and was built in the Edo period. It is currently open to the public as a museum where you can view exhibits inside the castle and in the castle town.

However, the charm of Kokura Castle in spring is the approximately 300 cherry trees that bloom around the castle. The cherry blossoms are of various types, such as Somei Yoshino and Yamazakura, and their colorful petals are reflected on the castle walls and moats.

The cherry blossoms at Kokura Castle usually reach their peak from late March to early April, but this year they began to bloom a little earlier due to the mild winter.

I went to Kokura Castle on March 28th, and although they were not yet in full bloom, I was able to fully enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms.

The cherry blossoms at Kokura Castle have been selected as one of the 100 best places in Japan and are bustling with many tourists and locals. The cherry blossoms at Kokura Castle are one of the seasonal attractions of spring in Kitakyushu. Please be sure to visit them.
