The “Kokura Illumination” will be held again this year in the urban center of Kokura Kita-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The concept for 2024 is “A Space Where Light Gathers.” The entire city, from around JR Kokura Station to the Murasaki River bank, will be adorned with approximately 900,000 illuminations.
Highlights
Illuminations Inspired by the Galaxy: The Murasaki River bank area will be decorated with displays reminiscent of the “solar system” and “galaxy,” expressing a fantastical “Space Where Light Gathers.”

Different Productions for Each Area: Illuminations with elaborate designs in each area will gorgeously color the city.
