The grand spring and autumn festivals called the “Kokunzo-san Festival” are held every year on February 13th and September 13th.

At the festival, street vendors gather, and it is bustling with worshippers who come to receive amulets for business prosperity, traffic safety, and family safety, as well as to borrow offertory money called “Fukusen” (lucky money).

The Urayasu no Mai and Toyosaka no Mai dances by elementary and junior high school students are also dedicated. At the street vendors, “Hajiki-zaru” (springing monkey) and “Pinpin-dai” (vibrating sea bream) are sold. The Hajiki-zaru is a mysterious toy where a monkey bounces when launched with a spring bow, and it is a lucky charm said to ward off misfortune and bring good fortune.

It is loved locally as a local folk toy.
