The Kikuchi Matsubayashi is a Shinto ritual performed annually on October 13th at Kikuchi Shrine in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
New Year’s performing arts that began in the Muromachi period have been passed down through generations and are now designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property as valuable traditional performing arts that still retain their original form.
