Kawachi Wisteria Garden in Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a wisteria garden that opened in 1977. From late April to early May, 22 varieties of wisteria flowers bloom, and from mid-November to early December, about 700 trees turn red and reach their peak.

The highlight is the tunnel of maple trees that you can see when you climb the steep slope at the end of the wisteria trellis. The spectacular scenery created by the red and yellow maple trees interwoven with the green of the wisteria trellis is truly breathtaking.
