The “Jima Island Camellia Festival,” held on Jima Island in Munakata City, which floats on the Genkai Sea, is a beautiful festival where approximately 6,000 camellias that grow naturally on the island vividly color the island.
The festival was held for the first time in four years in 2023. With the Tomari district as the main venue, stage events, wakame seaweed, and the local specialty camellia oil rice will be sold.
Jima Island is a small island with a population of about 140 people, but it is a place blessed with seafood, with a rich natural landscape spreading out. Please visit Jima Island in early spring and enjoy the Jima Island Camellia Festival.
