The “Fukuoka Castle Cherry Blossom Festival,” held at Maizuru Park in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Fukuoka City, where approximately 1,000 cherry trees bloom in full glory. The cherry tree-lined streets shining in the blue sky during the day and the illuminated magical night cherry blossoms attract many people both day and night.
In 2024, special events commemorating the 400th anniversary of the construction of Fukuoka Castle will be held. There will be a lot to see, such as the illumination of the phantom castle keep, magical performances with projection mapping, and appearances by the warrior corps associated with Kanbei Kuroda.
In addition, the “Kyushu Gourmet Expo,” where gourmet foods from all over Kyushu gather, will also be held. There will also be many food stalls where you can enjoy various gourmet foods from Fukuoka, such as Hakata ramen, motsunabe (offal hotpot), mizutaki (chicken hotpot), and mentaiko (spicy cod roe).
