At Nanrinji Temple in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, the “Hana Matsuri” (Flower Festival) is held every year on April 8th. This festival celebrates the birth of Buddha, and many cultural properties, including the “Wooden Yakushi Nyorai Sitting Statue,” a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, as well as the “Bonsho” (temple bell) from the Muromachi period and the “Unpan” (cloud-shaped board) from the Northern and Southern Courts period, are open to the public.
