Maizuru Park, on the site of Fukuoka Castle, has an iris garden where the irises reach their best viewing period in mid-May every year. Wooden paths are provided, allowing you to view the purple and white flowers up close. In addition, hydrangeas also begin to bloom in various parts of the park in June. It is recommended to take a walk in the park, where large trees such as zelkova, camphor, and mukunoki trees with trunk circumferences of 5 to 3 meters are scattered while overlooking the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. Maizuru Park is easily accessible from within Fukuoka City and is ideal for outings with family and friends.
