The Azalea Park around Ohtomi Shrine, the leading scenic spot in the city, is also famous as the venue for the Hofukuji-yama Azalea Festival. In the park, which is approximately 7,000 square meters in size, about 3,000 colorful azaleas bloom in full glory.

The best viewing time is from late April to early May, and during this period, it is bustling with many people.

Also, at the same time, the Ohtomi Shrine Spring Shinkosai Festival is held from April 29 to May 1, and the Yaya Gion, a prefecturally designated intangible cultural property, is a must-see.

It is recommended for outings with family.
