At Kawachi Wisteria Garden in Kitakyushu City, 22 varieties of wisteria bloom in full glory from late April to early May. The wisteria trellis is about 1000 tsubo (approximately 3300 square meters) in size, and the large wisteria and the wisteria tunnel are also breathtaking to see.
This wisteria garden has large wisteria trees over 120 years old and tunnels with lengths of 110m and 80m. It was even chosen by CNN in the United States as one of “The 31 most beautiful places in Japan.”
There are also about 700 maple trees in the garden, and you can see the fresh greenery of the maple trees during the wisteria season. Many people from all over the world, including tourists, visit, and they will be fascinated by the beauty of the wisteria.
