“Otomijinja Shrine,” located in Buzen City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a historic shrine that enshrines Munakata Okami, Hachiman Okami, and Sumiyoshi Okami. It has long been the center of faith for local people, and many people still visit to worship.

Imperial Messenger’s Well The “Imperial Messenger’s Well,” where it is said that imperial messengers to Usa Jingu stopped at this shrine to draw water and offer it, still remains on the shrine grounds. Even today, water is drawn from this well and offered to Usa Jingu.
Buzen City’s Largest Festival! The “Shinko-sai Festival,” which has continued since 740, is the largest festival in Buzen City. Once every two years, a type of music called “Kanno-gaku” is dedicated.
New Year’s Events On December 31st, a New Year’s Eve ceremony and a New Year’s bonfire lighting ceremony are held, and on January 1st, a New Year’s festival is performed. During the first three days of the New Year, bonsai exhibitions and Shigin (reciting poetry) are also held, attracting many people.
