Fukuoka Prefectural Shioji Kenmin-no-Mori, a natural park created on Mount Shioji, which straddles Umi Town, Onojo City, and Dazaifu City in Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture. It is a scenic spot where you can see a panoramic view of the Genkai Sea and the Chikushi Plain from the summit.
Every year in mid-November, the maple trees, Japanese maple trees, and ginkgo trees in the Yuku-no-Mori forest within the park turn colorful at once, showing their vivid appearance. In particular, Momiji Valley is dyed in the red color of maple trees, creating a spectacular view.
In addition, the Ono Castle ruins, which are said to have been built to defend Dazaifu, are also in the park, and have been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Castles. You can have a unique experience of enjoying the autumn leaves while viewing the castle ruins.
Why not take this opportunity to enjoy autumn leaf viewing while feeling the rich nature and history of Fukuoka?
