Experience a Retro Townscape: Time Travel Illumination
The winter tradition “Kurume Light Festival Hotomeki Fantasy” will be held in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This year, marking its 20th anniversary, the event will feature retro-themed illuminations decorating the city with the theme of “Time Travel”.
Highlights
- Meiji-dori Illumination: Approximately 100 trees lining Meiji-dori, from the Mutsukado intersection to Nishitetsu Kurume Station, will be lit up with three-color illuminations.
- Neon-style Illumination: Neon-style colored illuminations, reminiscent of a retro townscape, will enhance the feeling of time travel.
- Photo Spots: Photo-worthy spots will appear around Kurume City Plaza and the Nishitetsu Kurume Station East Exit!
- Wisteria Trellis Illumination in front of the Church: The illumination of the wisteria trellis in front of the church is also a must-see.

The “Kurume Light Festival Opening Event” will be held from 11:00 to 19:00 on Saturday, December 14, 2024!
