“Kawachi Reservoir,” located in Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a man-made lake created by the Kawachi Dam, which was built on the upper reaches of the Itabitsu River. You can enjoy the nature of the four seasons, with cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, and autumn leaves in fall.
The best time to see the autumn leaves around Kawachi Reservoir is usually from mid-November to early December. The autumn leaves that color the lake shore are as beautiful as a painting.
