The terraced rice fields in the Take district are designated as one of the “100 Best Terraced Rice Fields in Japan.” In this event, a thousand handmade torches will be lit in the flooded terraced rice fields. Countless lights reflect on the surface of the water in the terraced rice fields, creating a fantastic scene. You can also enjoy stage events and stalls. However, please bring a flashlight as it is dark underfoot.

Participation requires a 500 yen terraced rice field conservation cooperation fee for junior high school students and older. This cooperation fee will be used as funds for terraced rice field conservation activities. In addition, if you plan to take photos with a tripod, a separate location fee of 1,000 yen is required.

Please note that the roads around the venue are narrow and there is no parking, so please follow the instructions of the staff for parking. Also, please do not enter the paddies as there are ridges (aze) inside, which are dangerous. The event may be canceled in case of rain.

The Take Terraced Rice Field Fire Festival is a must-see event. Please come and enjoy the fantastic scenery and the beauty of the terraced rice fields.
